A lot more interest in Paypal has arisen since it's promotional videos statred claiming that you can now accept payments from your Web site visitors and turn them into customers and that (here's the punchline) they do not need an account with Paypal!

So since Paypal has been around since 1999 and has grown considerably we decided to put their claims to the test.

I wanted to keep this article as simple as possible becuase that's exactly what Paypal has never managed to do for its customers in the past, so with some enthusiasm I went to their site, watched the video and then decided to give it a try.

Within less than one minute the video claims "you can start selling quickly and your customers don't even need a paypal accouint to pay, they can pay with their credit card"

The bank setup stage took about 3 to 4 days to complete due to the verification process which was very simple if not quick.

Selecting the simplest option the Paypal Website generates some "code for a button" which you place on any Web page you can.

Here's a the code it generated for my on a simple html page

This link open a new window at which point you can see the button in the top left of the page

paypal generated button for single purchases

Above is just the button image, when I pasted the code into the system used to create these pages it did'nt work, but that's a different matter for another day.

It does work, but not as you expect.
Pasting the button code into the simple html page link does work!

However folks there's a small catch that comes in two parts; your customers can only make 10 individual purchases using the Paypal credit card only service, after that they must open a Paypal Account.

This does not mean 10 individual purchases from you, this means collectively 10 individual purchases using this service from any site(s) that adopt this Paypal one off payment method.

To put this in perspective Paypal are enabling you to easily integrate a payment button, that's excellent news! This means you can make thousands of individual sales to differnet people however from your customers perspective they can only make 10 purchases across the internet before they need to open a full normal Paypal account.
